Artist in Residence
Sarah Isbel Hill practices art from her home studio on the East Coast of New South Wales.
Growing up in a small town as the youngest of four, she was often found constructing cardboard creations, hand sewing quirky textiles and drawing.
Following her love of art, Hill graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2007 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons, 1st class) where she predominately focused on ceramic sculpture and painting.
Hill lives on a rural property immersed by natural wilderness which is regularly used for inspiration in her art. The works are often brightly coloured, semi abstract representations of botanical themes and landscape that are painted intuitively and largely from her imagination.
